Roots
The Roots page is where you’ll meet the faces behind the Sower Collective—a group of friends brought together by faith, purpose, and a shared vision to sow truth, love, and hope into the world. Here, we share our individual testimonies, the journey that led us to one another, and the “why” behind everything we create. From small-town beginnings in Southern Alberta to building a brand rooted in God’s Word, Roots is your invitation to learn who we are, what we believe, and how we’re growing something far greater than ourselves—together.

Meet Maggie - Sower of Light
A radiant heart rooted in faith.
Maggie, wife to Chad, living in the heart of Southern Alberta, where her life and faith continue to bloom. Her journey has been anything but easy—marked by trauma, divorce, bankruptcy, and even rejection from family. But through every valley, Maggie chose to lean into Jesus. And in doing so, she discovered her true identity, her calling, and an unshakable light that now shines in every room she enters.
Her love for Jesus is unmistakable. She is a prayer warrior, a passionate worshipper, and a woman whose heart overflows with grace and compassion. Maggie is a quiet strength and a radiant presence, anchored in faith and surrendered to God’s will. Her life reflects beauty birthed from brokenness—creativity that flows from deep healing and hope.
Maggie is a devoted mother of two children—one who is happily married and walking closely with the Lord, and the other who is still finding his way. She prays daily with faith and love, believing he will one day come to know Jesus personally.
With two loving (and hairy) Australian Shepherds, Finnigan and Casey, always nearby, Maggie lives with intention and humor—even if it means battling dog fur in the vacuum daily. She is a woman walking boldly in her purpose—lifting others, reflecting Christ, and sowing light wherever she goes. Her life is a living testament to God’s redeeming power and relentless love.

Meet Chad - Where creativity meets calling
Living the mission, one seed at a time.
Chad is the visionary behind Sower—a storyteller, builder, and man of deeply rooted faith. Residing in Southern Alberta with his wife Maggie, Chad’s path has been forged through relentless trials: years of physical injuries that led to multiple surgeries and long, painful recoveries; seasons overwhelmed by depression, suicide attempts, and intense spiritual warfare; and a devastating divorce that left him at rock bottom. He experienced total loss—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. But in that brokenness, he encountered Jesus in a life-changing way. What once crushed him became the very soil God used to plant purpose, healing, and redemption. And from that soil, Sower was born.
Before co-creating Sower, Chad lived life at full speed as a sponsored professional snowboarder throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. He traveled the world, landed features in some of the biggest international snowboard magazines, and built a deep bag of tricks that came from pushing the limits and risking everything for the thrill. But perhaps his greatest skill wasn’t in the tricks—it was in learning how to get back up after some of the hardest crashes, both on the mountain and in life.
After stepping away from snowboarding, Chad pursued work in the trades, developing skill and patience in stone masonry and fine furniture making at journeyman status. His eye for craftsmanship and meaning led him into the world of graphic design and media skills he now pours into every design, message, and piece created through Sower.
Chad’s story is one of grit, grace, and total surrender. His life is proof that God can rebuild what’s been shattered. Today, he lives to help others grow a great life—one rooted in truth, love, and faith. Every design he shares, every word he writes, and every seed he sows is for those who feel like they’ve lost too much. Because he’s been there—and he knows firsthand: you were never meant to walk alone.
